More about Petta

Pettah is one of the places known for its literary movement after the 1950s.  Its the place of birth of Kerala Kaumudi newspaper and also known for the railway station which helps in easing off the traffic of Trivandrum Central railway station.  It has airport accessibility in around 5 kms and has bus stops for going in Veli direction or Medical College direction or to Trivandrum Central.  It also has a famous mosque, temple and church, speaking out its religious diversity.
Kanjiravilakom Temple:
           One of the oldest Durga temples. During festivals "Thottam pattu", a traditional art form is performed here. It is one among the few temples in Kerala where this traditional music form is recited by traditional artistes during the festival period which lasts for 10 days. "Villil thookam" is a ritual in this temple in which small children participate.
