| Kanjirappally is a commercial center and a gateway to "Malanadu" or Highrange. Kanjirapply has a lot of history, going back to the 13th centuary. It's famous "Pazhayapalli", or "Old Church" was built in the 14th centuary. People of different religous denominations live in peace and harmony here. Kanjirappally and its surrounding areas are covered with Rubber Estates and accounts for the major income source for many people in the area. The fluctuations in the rubber market can be felt in the lifestyle of the people here.
It has several educational institutions, including an engineering college. Most of the schools and colleges are run by the diocese of Kanjirappally or other private trusts.
