Ingredients for Kesri recipe
Sooji/Rava - 1cup Sugar -3/4 cup Milk- 1 tall glass Ghee- 2 tbsp Red colour/Saffron - a little Vanilla essence - 1 tsp Cashews - to decorate
How to make Kesri?
Fry the Sooji for 10 minutes.Keep aside. Boil the milk and then add sugar. Once the sugar dissolves, add the fried sooji to it. Add in the colour. Finally add in Vanilla essence.When the mixture turns into a semisolid consistency ,pour it to a basin that has been smeared with ghee. Decorate with cashews.
1) vanilla essence can be substituted with Cardamom (powdered). 2) Add the red colour or saffron to a little milk and then add this to the mixture while cooking.
